The client requested the pure wooden structure without using the various materials such as steel timber to begin with. Therefore, We thought the floor planning and wooden structure is very important factor in this plan. The best solution to the request is “slanted wall in south side”. The “slanting” makes new space between roof and wall, the large size beam, supporting the wind pressure in the south stairwell, is spanned in this space. In the environmental aspects, the slanted wall protects the living space from heart load of the sunshine, and it works as the canopy. The pure wooden structure → the space formed by “slanting” → the structure of living space/ the environmental solution, is the flow of the theme in this house.
